Psychoanalysis and Reading

Abstract:
This introductory lecture on psychoanalysis focused on the importance of language and the practice of close reading, both of which are central to the field. The lecture demonstrated various points of departure and convergence between psychoanalysis and the clinical practices of ego psychology.

Rahul Sen’s areas of interest include psychoanalysis, queer theory, literary studies, and cinema studies. His doctoral research examines questions of literary and cinematic “forms” and their interaction with idioms of desire. His writings have appeared in several national and international journals, news portals, and websites. In 2023, he co-edited Queers in Quarantine, an anthology of fiction,   non-fiction, and artwork by queer artists from across the world.
